Familiar problems

What we hear from Marietta business owners

Few companies set out to build their IT this way. It just happens as the business gets busier.

The IT person is really the bookkeeper

Someone capable took it on years ago. Now they spend part of every week on printers and passwords instead of the job you hired them for.

Customers are asking security questions

A prime contractor, a hospital system or your cyber insurer sent a questionnaire. You aren't sure how to answer half of it honestly.

The old server is still running the office

It sits in a closet off the break room. It's out of warranty, holds the shared drive and the accounting data, and nobody wants to touch it.

Support feels like a black box

You open a ticket and wait. Invoices list hours with no detail, and nobody has walked you through what's actually protected.

Doing business in Marietta

Why IT in Marietta looks different from the rest of metro Atlanta

Marietta is the Cobb County seat and one of the older business centers in metro Atlanta. The city itself has about 63,000 residents, but the Marietta mailing address reaches much further, across East Cobb and out toward Kennesaw. The Census Bureau's 2023 ZIP Code Business Patterns count 9,856 employer establishments in the seven ZIP codes that carry a Marietta address. About 2,250 of them have between 10 and 249 employees. That is the band where one person can no longer handle IT in their spare time.

An aerospace town, still

Lockheed Martin builds the C-130 Hercules at its plant beside Dobbins Air Reserve Base, and the Marietta line has turned out C-130s since 1955. Around the plant sits a ring of smaller firms that machine parts, write software, inspect, train and ship for defense programs. Many of them handle Controlled Unclassified Information. Since November 2025, new Defense Department contracts can require a CMMC level as a condition of award. That raises the bar for email, file storage, device control and record keeping, even at a 25-person machine shop. We help those firms keep everyday IT tidy and documented, which is the groundwork any assessment depends on.

A health care hub

Wellstar Health System is headquartered in Marietta, and Wellstar Kennestone Hospital on Church Street is one of the busiest hospitals in Georgia. Clinics, therapy groups, imaging centers, billing services and dental offices cluster around it. Across Cobb County, health care and social assistance employed 41,120 people in 2023, at 2,538 establishments. These offices need patient data protected under HIPAA, but they also need the front desk, the scheduling system and the phones to work at 7:30 every morning.

The courthouse and the Square

County government, the courts and the lawyers who work in them keep Marietta Square busy on weekdays. Law firms, title and closing offices, accountants and insurance agencies fill the blocks around it, next to restaurants and shops that rely on card terminals and guest Wi-Fi. Georgia real estate closings are handled by attorneys, so a lot of wire transfers move through small Marietta offices. That makes email security a front-line issue, not an afterthought.

Distribution and light industry on the I-75 corridor

Cobb County had 1,138 wholesale establishments employing 25,384 people in 2023, plus 454 manufacturing sites with 13,837 workers. Many sit along I-75 and Cobb Parkway, from the Franklin Gateway area up toward Town Center. Their IT includes warehouse Wi-Fi, handheld scanners, label printers, shipping software and an ERP system that cannot go down during a shift. Office IT habits don't always fit there, so we plan updates around production and keep shop-floor equipment on its own network segment.

Office parks and commuters

The Powers Ferry and Windy Hill office parks, near the I-75 and I-285 junction, house regional offices and professional firms. Traffic at that junction is a fact of life, and plenty of their staff now work from home part of the week. Secure remote access, managed laptops and a well-run Microsoft 365 tenant matter more to them than any box in a server room.

Different as these businesses are, they share a need: someone who knows their systems, keeps them maintained and picks up the phone. That is the job we do.

Getting started

Four steps to a managed office

Most Marietta businesses with 10 to 75 staff are fully onboarded in three to six weeks. A messier starting point takes a little longer.

Review

An engineer walks your office, checks the firewall, PCs, Microsoft 365 tenant and backup jobs, and asks staff what slows them down.

Propose

We hand you the findings in priority order, a fixed monthly price and a start date that avoids your busiest stretch.

Switch over

Admin accounts and records move from your current provider, monitoring goes on every device and the most urgent gaps get closed first.

Run

Daily support, updates, security and backup checks, with a review meeting each quarter on what changed and what's coming up.

Service area

Marietta, East Cobb and the towns around them

Our office is in Alpharetta. Engineers reach East Cobb and Marietta Square along Roswell Road (GA-120), and the Windy Hill and Powers Ferry office parks by I-285. Kennesaw, Acworth and the Town Center area are a short run up I-75, and Smyrna sits just south of the city. Routine fixes are handled remotely; when a job needs a person on site, we schedule the visit and tell you who is coming.

Questions

Questions Marietta businesses ask first

Is your office in Marietta?

No. Sentry Cloud IT is based at 1040 Cambridge Square in Alpharetta. Our engineers come to Marietta, East Cobb and nearby Cobb County towns for on-site work, and handle most requests remotely.

Who is a good fit for managed IT?

Usually businesses with about 10 to 150 people. Smaller offices that hold sensitive records, such as medical, legal or defense supply work, often benefit too.

How do you price it?

After the review we quote one monthly fee based on users, devices and the services you pick. Routine help desk calls are covered, so no one hesitates to ask.

Can you work with defense contractors?

Yes. We manage IT for small suppliers and help keep systems documented and controlled. If you need a formal CMMC assessment, that is done by an accredited assessor, and we can help you prepare.
